The combination of bold and translucent shapes on all surfaces of this bowl bring to mind ink wash painting as well as botanical illustration and explorative abstraction. The all-over pattern captures a lightness and transience expressive of the last days of summer.

This hand-made bowl is shaped from pure white stoneware. It stands on three tiny feet allowing the curve of the bowl to float just above the table surface. The subtle unevenness of its edges lend to the playful spirit of cobalt markings and botanical forms inspired by the interconnected rhythms of nature.

White stoneware with cobalt oxide, fired at 1280 °C
